The Ninth Winter Symposium on Chemometrics took place at recreation center “Tom” located in the suburbs of one of the oldest Siberian city Tomsk. About 40 participants from seven countries participated in the conference. The scientific program included 21 lectures/oral presentations and 17 posters. Such not overloaded program left ample time for very interesting discussions.

Traditionally the conference attracted young scientists and many of them were awarded for active participation. The prizes for the best poster presentation, provided this year by the Umetrics company, were given to Maria Khaydukova (Saint Petersburg State University, 1st place), Ekaterina Cherednik (Tomsk Polytechnic University, 2nd place) and Vitaly Panchuk (Saint Petersburg State University, 3rd place). The winners got licenses for SIMCA and MODDE software tools.

Special prize titled “professor's choice” presented by prof. Yi-Zeng Liang, was given to Ekaterina Cherednik (Tomsk Polytechnic University). This is a free participation voucher for CAC-2015 conference to be held in Changsha, China. Prize to the best presentation, given by young chemometrician (a voucher for free participating in CAC 2014), was given to Alexey Skvortsov from Saint Petersburg State Polytechnical University.
