The scientific WSC-12 activities will be held at recreation center Volzhskie Dali (site is in Russian) located on the bank of the Volga river in beautiful suburbs of city Saratov (15 km from the city center). Participants will live in comfortable single and double rooms. All facilities, including restaurant, conference hall, "scores and loadings" bar, etc. are located within a short walkable distance. There will be also free time allocated for skiing and other activities.
In 2019 Saratov got a new Gagarin airport which has regular connection with Moscow (from three main airports — Domodedovo, Sheremetievo and Vnukovo) with several daily flights. The flight time is approximately 1 hour. Train is also an option, however, the trip will take approximately 15 hours in this case. Local committee will help with transfer from train station/airport to the conference place. Detailed information will be available on this page later.
All foreigners traveling to Russia must have a passport and visa covering the duration of stay in the country. The WSC-12 organizing committee recommends you to apply for business or humanitarian visa with purpose of the visit: scientific-technical relations.
Visas are issued by Russian Consulate in your home country, based on the hard copy of invitation (a visa support letter) from the Saratov State University, registered with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. In order to make an official invitation we need a copy of your passport, period of stay in Russia and all cities you are going to visit. You will also need to fill in and print a visa application form.
Accompanying persons can get a tourist visa, based on an invitation from an authorized hosting Russian travel agency, registered with the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The invitations must be on letterheads and contain full name of the invited person, his/her date of birth, passport number, period of stay in Russia and cities to be visited.
